My name is Kaisley, and I love to sketch all things (but more specifically, people). I love sketching with my mechanical pencil and seeing the drawing come to life with just a bit of shading.
I’ve been sharing my art on Instagram and other social media platforms for a few years. It started with just pictures of my finished colored pencil work from my high school classes—eventually morphing into short videos that share my art process. Seeing how valuable these small videos became revealed people’s interest in improving their drawing skills. This interest is why I started creating online courses and posting more videos. Doing both showed me how much I love seeing other people learning through the art techniques I was sharing that had helped me along the way. So I created my website and a specific area for Dream2Draw Art. I hope that every person who lands on this site (whether they come with the desire to learn how to draw or practice a bit more on things that challenge them) finds what they need for their creative journey.
I am committed to making this website a space for learning and teaching for not only whoever visits but also me. If you need an idea of where to start, here are some suggestions.
Draw For Yourself
Here, you will find resources that with help in your journey to creating better art. These resources include step-by-step tutorials on drawing certain things (such as facial features) and some general tips and techniques to become a better artist that I’ve been learning throughout my journey. Lastly, for those who prefer to see the art process in real-time physically, my online courses are also available!
Storytelling
If you end up here, you’re just as fascinated by storytelling through art as I am. So it is especially heartbreaking that something I am passionate about is also my biggest weakness. I dream of creating beautiful illustrations and stories stored in my head but get discouraged when my drawings do not live up to what I had in mind. So I want to document my process of getting better at storytelling, which includes creating characters, developing extensive worldbuilding for those stories, and finding those moments when art imitates everyday life from any inspiration I get from the world around me.
Art Inspiration
Here is where I can write about what truly inspires me. Finding inspiration has always been essential for me to draw better. It goes beyond my Pinterest pins (those are great resources, and you can totally check out my boards for more help). I write more about the who and why: my favorite artists are, what movies inspire me, and what shows genuinely make me want to pick up the pencil right away!
Faith
My faith in Jesus Christ as my savior is intrinsic to who I am. It brings purpose to my life and everything in it, which I want to always illustrate with the talent He has given me. It is a section where I can visually display some encouragement through those tough times, make drawings about specific Bible stories, and how I’d like to incorporate Bible verses into everyday items.
Crafting
Finally, consider this as my little crafting corner! Here is where I will share all of the mini projects for the home I have done with tons of mixed media. It is where I ditch the pencil and sketchbook and explore other art forms such as painting, wood burning, and more! I also document my brainstorming for designs of future products.
I hope that every person who lands on this site (whether they come with the desire to learn how to draw or practice a bit more on things that challenge them) finds what they need for their creative journey.
